A Guided Tour of Bunratty Castle & Folk Park
It’s a Living Museum
Visit A Medieval Castle And 19th Century Village
The medieval castle was built by the O’Briens in 1425 and restored in 1954 to it’s former splendour. It is full of original furnishings, tapestries and art from that period. This creates an authentic sense of that time in Ireland.
A 19th Century village has been constructed on the site and is a great way to see & experience Irish vernacular architecture from that time. You will meet the actors dressed as 19th century characters, taste the freshly baked scones & ramble through the various reconstructed cottages & shops.
It’s a full day visit and a highly entertaining one. Bunratty offers Evening Banquets at the Castle, they are a great source of entertainment & you may be chosen to act as King or Queen for the evening! This also gives you the right to and to send someone to the dungeon!
Lunch at Bunratty mills which is also great for shopping!
Rebecca’s tip: This trip can include a visit to the Medieval town of Ennis, Limerick or Galway also known as ‘The City of the tribes’
