Celtic Clare Tour

We will walk over large expanses of a rare global land form known as limestone pavement to reach ‘St. Colman’s Hermitage’ at the base of ‘Eagles Rock’ near Carron in North Clare. It is a great example of inland sacred site set in the quiet seclusion of the ‘Burren National Park’. Eagles Rock features an ancient well, a sacred cave,and an Oratory.The rendition of Intriguing tales such as ‘the road of the dishes’ will spark your imagnation and we all love a bit of folklore! We will then travel 7 km to the monastic settlement at ‘Kilmacdaugh’ Gort, Co. Galway. Both sites are connected but ‘Kilmacdaugh’’ is a later ecclesiastical site located strategically beside a river featuring a round tower, and an array of ancient buildings. Its a special place to visit in my opinion. Great tales both real & Mythological , Archeology and Celtic Spirituality are central to this Tour. All Day Tour
