‘Temple Cronan’ was built in the 12th century as a destination designed to encourage pilgrimage to North Clare. If you are interested in finding out how spiritual men lived & worshiped in the splendid isolation of the burren landscape this is the hike for you!
This walk is set in the high burren near Carron, it’s an reasonably easy 6/7 km that offers a great flavor of ancient monastic architecture, including a traditional holy well called ‘Tobar Cronan’ & expansive limestone pavement.
